Regret-A-Day

================================================================================

( It's exactly what it sounds like. Life's full of regret. And I've made it my mission to post at least one per day. Join me, won't you? )

DAY 467

So, we get this channel with our cable plan.

And besides the horrible reboots of old shows that you see here, their programming tends to fall into the 70s/80s category. Lots of sitcoms with a healthy mix of cartoons.

Well, every night they show a full hour of two 80s failsafes, back to back: G.I. Joe & Transformers.

(Though not anything like this. Thankfully, THIS never happened.)

So, here’s the deal. I regret that out of all the hours spent watching these shows back in the day, I never had any fucking idea what was going on.

Sure, I knew that G.I. Joe was battling Cobra the whole time.

But holy shit! There were so many fucking characters on both sides that I never could track what the Hell was going on. EVER.

Same for Transformers.

I knew the Autobots were battling the Decepticons the whole time.

But holy shit! There were so many fucking characters on both sides that I never could track what the Hell was going on. EVER.

See a pattern here?

What this comes down to is that I’m not a complicated man. And I haven’t gotten less complicated over the years. I’ve ALWAYS been like this, I suppose. Because watching it now is like watching it when it first aired. Just too many things going on.

And maybe it’s an overused phrase, but I like to use it when it truly applies. ESPECIALLY regarding cartoons.
